This last week we had the hire car so we did some intresting things including looking for bikes for sale for Jay, Dad and Mum and going on a 4 day trip to Granada city in Spain. As well as all that, I have started to make a wooden table mat for the teapot to sit on for Mum.
In Granada we visited the Alhambra and the Parque de las Ciencias (science park). The Alhambra is a palace built by the Moors in 700 A.D and took 600 years to build (for those who want to know more visit http://lifestyle.iloveindia.com/lounge/facts-about-alhambra-3280.html). All in all it was an amazing piece of architechture and had some very intricate decorations.
We went to the science park on our way out of Granada on our last day. It was really cool and there were loads of hands-on experiments. On our third day in Granada we went to a solar research center 100km away from the city, beside the town of Tabernas. There they were trying to come up with good commercial solutions to using solar power. They took us on a tour of the site to all these different machines that they were testing and improving (http://www.psa.es/webeng/index.php). Most of the machines used concentration of the sun in a specific place wich produce very high tempratures to make electricity.
As to the hostel we stayed in; it was a nice place to stay all in all. The only thing was that we had to smuggle Oz in and out in a bag because we thought they didn`t allow dogs but we were getting fed up with it all (and so was Oz) so we asked the receptionist and she said we could take him in!! The rest of the hostel was great, there was a free coffee-and-hot-milk machine, free wifi, brilliant hot showers, it was semi-warm at night, nice staff and and a nice breakfast.
We still have the car for another week so we might be doing some more interesting stuff.
Untill then, by for now.
