In Deshaies we rented a car and drove around the island in it. While we were driving to the capital ,Point a Pitre, we passed trucks full of harvested sugarcane and banana plantations beside the road.In Point a Pitre we went to see a badly designed cathedral and the Schoelcher museum. Mr Schoelcher abolished slavery In all French territorys. Also on the trip we went to see some waterfalls that were the biggest in the West Indies but the rain came on just at the wrong time.
The Deshaies botanical gardens were brilliant. There were loads of plants and information on them. They also had an aviary with small parrots in that you could feed and flamingos and carp in a pond (the flamingos were not in the pond).

Mum, Dad and I went on an exciting walk up a river where we had to jump from rock to rock and therewas a pool to swim in at the top.
After Guadeloupe we sailed to Antigua and caught a Barracuda!! While in Antigua we dotted bettween Jolly Harbour, English Harbour and Indian creek. In English Harbour I met up with a boat called Searcher that had an American family onboard with a 9 year old boy called Havanna. There was also an old port called Nelsons Dockyard that still had the old buildings and cannons in but had been made into marina.
There were loads and loads of Pelicans in Indian Creek. They would swoop round then plumet-dive into the water for fish which was great to watch especially when you`r in the middle of it all.

On the first day that we were in Indian Creek Dad went ashore to explore and foun an oldshed with loads of junk in. One of the pieces of junk was a wind surfer that had seen alot better days. He took it back to the boat, sawed off the spikey corners and towed Jay and I around behind the dinghy. It was brilliant fun.
