While we were in English harbour we went to a party up at Shirley heights which is a hill overlooking the bay. At the party there was a brilliant steel an band, a BBQ and a local man selling hats and baskets made from banana palm leaves!!! At about 7 PM the pan band left and another, more modern band with electric guitars and big speakers arrived and played instead. lied the pan band more because it wasn't so loud and the music was better.
On our night in Antigua we stayed in Jolly Harbour and met a family aboard a boat called Mallymawk. They were English and had a 12 year old daughter called Roxanne who was really nice. There was also a 19 year old boy called Ceasar and an 18 year old girl called Zoe on board. Ceasar was chief communications officer (e-mails etc), Zoe could play the guitar, Roxanne had written a book and published it with Ceasar`s help, their mum was an artist and played a really old accordion and their dad had lived on the boat for 35 years!!!! We invited them on board for tea and they were really entertaining. They have a website that Cesar set up at www.yachtmollymawk.com which is very good.

This is yacht Mollymawk.

The trip to Nevis was horrible and I was sick. We got there at about 5:30 PM.We stayed in Charlestown for four days and went on a trip of the island with Dad and Jay on the bikes and Mum and I on the local bus. We went to the Golden Rock plantation where we saw loads of plants and green velvet monkeys!!! Then we went to the north of the island and played golf which was great fun and I came last.

Behold the profesional golfer!!!!

Since Nevis and St Kitts are the same country but different islands we didn`t need to sign out of Nevis before we visited St Kitts. We stayed there for a few days. When we arrived at Basse Terre anchorage the engine wasn`t working so we anchored under sail!!!

This is a view of the fort from the entrance.

While in St Kitts we went to Brimstone Hill Fort which was a UNESCO heritage site. It was built in 1690 and in January 1782 8000 french soldiers fought against 1000 british defenders. After a month of fighting the british surrendered on Febuary 12th but the French let them march out with all the honours of wall. Later, the fort was abandoned and the recently restored. The fort was very well presented and there was so much information that I couldn't read it all.

We saw these monkeys in the grounds.

We also saw petroglyphs form the Caribs, an okay botanical garden and a peacock on a roof!!!
