On the 4th April we set of on a camping trip to Santo Domingo which was ,long ago, a mining area.
Santo Domingo was quite popular with tourists ,in comparison with the rest of rural Portugal anyway,7 and because of the mining area they had a campsite for the tourists and it was quite a nice spot.
During our Stay at Santo Domingo we cycled around the countryside with Oz panting behind us, we swam in the lake, we cooked our meals on our little camping stove (one night we even had steaks!!), we met some other Dutch and German campers and we went out to two different local restaurants to eat.
There was also a library with very slow internet next to the campsite.
Our camping cooker runs on petrol and it was getting low on fuel so I got some more from our German camping friends for free!!
On our last day, the back wheel of my bike got a puncture and it took me three hours to repair it because we didn`t have enough space to carry the right tools from the boat. In case I got another puncture on the way back to the boat, I borrowed a spanner from a cafe owner!! Karl returned it for us afterwards on his bike.
