our first week in Trinidad

Mum and I have been in Port of Spain,Trinidad, for around a week now waiting for my sister,my dad and Sea Warrior to arrive from Brasil.
The people here in Trinindad are really nice, friendly and helpful and there seem to be a lot of Rastafarian men around.
The heat is scorchingly hot and mum and I are still getting accustomed to it.

When we first arrived,we stayed in a place called Tony`s guest house but only for a few days because it wasn't very nice.At the moment we are staying in an area called Chaguaramas where the marinas are.

The main public transport vehicles are maxi taxis which are white with yellow stripes around them. They are very cheap. The only problem with them is that after 4pm the rush hour starts and there are too many people wanting a ride so you have to wait for ages to get one.

For the time that we have been here I have been the navigator or map reader in the city.It is fun and I now know a lot of the streets quite well.

We have already visited the red house which is the parliament of Trinidad and Tobago. We had a guided tour and I got to sit on The Presidents chair!

In Port of Spain their is a great library which we have been visiting every day.It is great because it has lots and lots of English books and free Internet.
